Set targets that survive scrutiny
- Define scope, base year, unit and organisational boundary.
- Explain whether the target is absolute or intensity-based.
- Link ambition to a funded action plan and dependencies.
- Set interim milestones and governance for corrective action.
- Describe offsets or certificates separately from gross reductions.
- Report progress consistently and explain recalculations.
Approach CDP and ratings
Confirm who is requesting the response, which questionnaire or methodology applies and how the output will be used. Maintain a central evidence library so answers across CDP, customers, lenders and rating agencies remain consistent. Challenge inaccurate public data through the provider’s formal process rather than tailoring the sustainability report solely to a score.
